Dong Zong Affirms UEC Recognition Harms No Constitutional Principles

In a strong statement, Dong Zong (the United Chinese School Committees’ Association) has firmly reiterated its position that the recognition of the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) does not, in any way, breach the Federal Constitution. This assertion comes amidst ongoing debates surrounding the certificate’s integration into the national education framework.

Dong Zong emphasized its unwavering support for multilingual education, viewing it as a cornerstone of Malaysia’s rich cultural diversity and a valuable asset for national development. Furthermore, Dong Zong explicitly addressed concerns that UEC recognition might undermine the position of Bahasa Melayu as the national language.
