December brought a festive return to the Capitol in Charleston for our Legislative Interim Committee meetings, and what a spectacular sight it was! The historic building was fully adorned for the holidays, creating an exceptionally warm and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.
As you approached, facing the tranquil river, a magnificent, towering Christmas tree gleamed with lights, setting a joyous tone right from the start. Stepping inside, the spirit of the season was even more palpable. Giant, stoic nutcrackers stood guard at the ornate Senate chamber doors, adding a whimsical yet grand touch to the classical architecture. Every hallway, every corner seemed to whisper tales of the season, making our important legislative work feel a little brighter amidst the holiday cheer.
It’s always a privilege to convene at the Capitol, but during the holidays, it truly transforms into a magical place, reminding us of the community spirit and the importance of coming together, even as we tackle serious state matters. We’re looking forward to sharing updates on the progress made during these productive interim sessions soon!
