‘Chitta-free Himachal’ emerges a mass movement, says CM Sukhu

Himachal Pradesh is witnessing a significant shift as the state government’s flagship campaign, ‘Chitta-free Himachal,’ evolves into a powerful people’s movement. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu recently emphasized this transformation, highlighting how widespread public participation is strengthening the fight against drug abuse across the state.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the two-day Indora Festival at Indora in Kangra district, the Chief Minister underscored the critical role of community involvement. He noted that the ‘Chitta-free Himachal’ initiative is no longer merely a government program but has truly become a collective endeavor driven by the people’s resolve to eradicate the drug menace.

CM Sukhu also revealed the administration’s aggressive stance against drug trafficking, stating that properties worth approximately Rs 50 crore, linked to illicit drug activities, have already been seized. This stringent approach, combined with ongoing public awareness campaigns and robust community engagement, is proving instrumental in fostering a safer and healthier Himachal.
