Well, well, well. Joe Biden was back in the spotlight this past Friday, and by “spotlight,” I mean he was once again at a podium, delivering remarks that, depending on your perspective, either inspire or leave you wondering if he’s speaking to the right audience. This time, the President found himself in Washington, D.C., accepting an award from the Victory Institute.
The highlight (or perhaps, lowlight for some)? Biden’s rather grand declaration that his administration is the “most LGBTQ+ inclusive” ever. A bold claim, indeed, and one that certainly demands a thorough fact-check beyond the friendly confines of an awards ceremony. It’s hard not to wonder if the message truly landed with the general public, or if it felt like another instance of shouting into the echo chamber while half the country patiently waited for something more substantive.
